"More kids, how many children do you want?" other moms ask, like your crazy!

I have always wanted a big family. I love kids and I love the idea of being a mom. When I found out I was pregnant with my first child, I was thrilled. And then, when I found out I was having twins, I was ecstatic!

Now, I have four children under the age of six and let me tell you, it is crazier than I ever could have imagined. But, despite the never-ending laundry and never-ending list of things to do, I wouldn't change it for the world. My kids are my everything and watching them grow up is the greatest joy of my life.

I never thought I would be a mother of four, but here I am

I'm far from having it all together sometimes, but having four kids doesn't make me feel overwhelmed or out of control - it just feels like I have a full and happy life.

Juggling the 4 of them certainly keeps me on my toes, but parenting has taught me to stay organized and plan ahead. Being able to experience life through their eyes is really what makes having four children so rewarding; every day brings something new with these kiddos, and I wouldn't trade it for anything!

It's not always easy, but it's worth it

Navigating four children on the rocky seas of life can be an exhausting struggle, but the rewards are well worth the effort. There's nothing like seeing four little faces light up with joy – it's a moment that can restore even the most jaded of parents.

Amidst all of the chaos and madness that four kids can create, it's important to remember that one day there will be four independent adults out in the world who have learned invaluable lessons from their upbringing and experiences. No matter how daunting or trying life as a parent-of-four might seem, it always pays off in the end.

From Chaos To Cuddles - 4 x The Love

From chaotic mornings and never-ending laundry, the chaos is sometimes unbearable– but despite it all these kiddos of mine bring me more joy and love than I ever realized was possible. My life with kids is definitely an adventure, but one I wouldn't trade for the world!

Our days are full of cuddles and giggles that make even the most mundane tasks feel special. The ultimate reward from having such a big family is being able to watch them growing up together - having a fourth baby gives me four times the hugs, laughs, and memories!

10 Things I've learned along the way

As a parent, I've learned a lot of tips and tricks over the years. Whether it's navigating tantrums or keeping track of homework assignments, each day brings something new to learn!

From my experience and discussions with other pros, here are some things that have come in handy while parenting:

  1. Set routines, bath time/bedtime like a pro but not necessarily a Sergeant Major.
  2. Plan meal times and don't offer alternative menus (you know what I mean moms).
  3. Buy groceries in bulk (get the extra large ice cream).
  4. Don't throw any old clothes or toys away, they will get used.
  5. Make use of the older kids, even at 5 or 6 they can help.
  6. DO NOT TAKE ALL THE KIDS TO THE SUPERMARKET ALONE EVER !!!
  7. Don't give them similar names, you'll end up rambling like a confused crazy lady.
  8. Don't be afraid to ask for help. Family and friend circles are a lifesaver.
  9. Get those date nights booked in, the sitter can survive one night surely and you both deserve it.
  10. Finally, be prepared for anything (especially when you're out and about).

And while it's easy to get overwhelmed at times trying to do it all, I've found that taking time for yourself can help bring clarity and perspective.

With these tips, I'm confident any household will be able to stay on top of the chaos that is life with kids!

If you're thinking about having kids, go for it!

Having kids is an absolute delight - don't let anyone fool you otherwise! Not only are big families, the more the merrier, filled with love and laughter, but having little ones around teaches us more about ourselves than we ever thought was possible. Not to mention all the joy that being able to shape someone's life brings one's way. So if you're thinking about starting a big family of your own, go for it! Life stops for no one, and raising your children will bring you rewards that last a lifetime.

Things you'll Need

Keep your sanity (and wallet) in check--you'll be surprised at how quickly you can make a dent in the bank account just stocking up on baby items. Re-use whatever you can.

With four little kids, say goodbye to umbrella strollers and say hello to a 4 seater stroller (yes they exist).  These are a great way to get around, read more on 4 seater strollers here.

From 4 seater ride-ons to 4 pallets of diapers, you'll learn that parenting is one expensive adventure, even with a few kids. But also one of the most rewarding ones!

Having 4 Kids FAQS

What are the benefits of having four kids?

Having four children provides many unique advantages, such as a greater sense of family unity and strength in numbers. Families with more than one child often experience greater loyalty and cooperation amongst siblings; this is especially true for families with four or more children. Additionally, there is no denying that raising multiple young people can bring great joy to any household; from cuddles and giggles to watching them grow up together, each sibling offers something special that four parents can appreciate!

What are the challenges of parenting 4 kids?

Parenting 4 kids requires an immense amount of energy, patience and time management skills - you have double (or even triple!) the number of schedules to juggle! There's also shopping in bulk which means bigger expenses overall as well as being able to divide your attention among all your children so they don't feel neglected. And finally, balancing between routines/rules versus giving them room for creativity - what works best varies from family-to-family but it’s important to find a system that works best for everyone involved!

Is it possible financially when having 4 kids?

Yes - With careful budgeting and planning it’s definitely doable. Consider shopping in bulk where you can get discounts on bigger purchases such as diapers and groceries. Reuse wherever you can - from clothes to toys - instead of buying new items all the time. And don't forget to ask for help so you don't feel overwhelmed trying to do it all yourself!

So, 4 Kids, Crazy or Perfect?

So many moms feel discouraged from having a fourth child, even a third child. But if having a big family is your dream, and after having two kids you feel you're in a good position to have more, then why not?

Life is too short to not experience the joys of parenthood. So if you're thinking about having a large family, go for it! You won't regret it.
